“These are precancerous lesions that can become aggressive and dangerous if not treated immediately and properly,” warned Dr. Stuart Fischer, who does not personally treat Russell.

Endorsing Fischer’s concern, Dr. Gabe Mirkin, an immunologist from Maryland, also suggested that PJS might be the cause of Russell’s sores and recommended immediate testing and treatment.

Russell’s Personal Life and Honors

In addition to his health issues, The Globe has also reported that Russell and his long-time partner, Goldie Hawn, age 71, have been experiencing personal struggles. Despite the challenges he’s facing, Russell’s professional career continues to shine.

The actor was scheduled to be inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers in Oklahoma City in October, a testament to his significant contributions to the western genre. His name already adorns the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

An Unexpected Health Situation

However, due to an unexpected health situation, Russell was unable to attend the induction ceremony. He revealed in a statement that he needed surgery, a procedure his doctors insisted could not be postponed. The Oklahoman reported that Russell would undergo hip surgery.

“As much as I would have liked to be there this year, I’m grateful that the museum decided to delay our honor until 2022 so I could personally accept this magnificent prize,” Russell said.
