Local DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a music enthusiast, fell victim to a mass shooting, sustaining a fatal gunshot wound to her abdomen. Despite undergoing surgery, she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Known for hosting the popular show ‘A Taste of Tejano’ on KKFI 90.1 FM, Lopez-Galvan’s sudden death left a void in her tight-knit community.

Children’s Mercy hospital received 11 children between ages six and 15, with nine of them shot.
