Mom-of-two killed at Super Bowl parade shooting – tragic details

Tragedy struck during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, turning a day of celebration into mourning. Local DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a music enthusiast, fell victim to a mass shooting, sustaining a fatal gunshot wound to her abdomen. Despite undergoing surgery, she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Known for hosting the popular show ‘A Taste of Tejano’ on KKFI 90.1 FM, Lopez-Galvan’s sudden death left a void in her tight-knit community.

In a statement, the radio station expressed deep sadness over the loss, emphasizing the profound impact she had on the community. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas conveyed sorrow, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the violence that marred what should have been a joyous occasion.

Authorities are investigating the shooting, with two individuals detained for questioning. The incident, believed to stem from a dispute, resulted in 30 patients across four hospitals, 19 of whom suffered gunshot wounds. Children’s Mercy hospital received 11 children between ages six and 15, with nine of them shot.

Social media platforms have become a space for mourning and remembrance, with an outpouring of condolences for Lopez-Galvan and her family. In her final Facebook post, she invited listeners to tune in to her radio show, leaving the community in shock and sorrow. As Kansas City mourns, they also celebrate the vibrant life and impact of Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
