Iconic ’80s Supermodel and Dallas Actress Annabel Schofield Dies at 62

Former model and actress Annabel Schofield has died at the age of 62 after a brave battle with brain cancer. The Welsh supermodel, who rose to international fame in the 1980s before moving into acting and film production, passed away on February 28 in Los Angeles. Schofield first made her mark in London’s fashion world, becoming one of the defining faces of 1980s style. During her modeling career, she appeared on hundreds of magazine covers and worked with major brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Rimmel, Revlon, and Boots No. 7.

One of her most memorable moments came in a popular Bugle Boy Jeans commercial, where she drove through the desert in a black Ferrari and delivered the famous line: “Excuse me, are those Bugle Boy jeans you’re wearing?” After establishing herself as a successful model, Schofield moved to the United States and transitioned into acting. She became widely known for her role as Laurel Ellis in the iconic primetime drama Dallas, appearing in 12 episodes during the show’s 11th season.

In July 2024, Schofield revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer that had spread to her brain. She remained open with fans about her health journey, sharing updates about her treatments and undergoing surgery in January to remove a nasal tumor. Although the procedure was successful, she later shared that she was still awaiting further tests to determine whether additional treatment would be necessary.

Schofield is survived by her mother. She had previously lost both her father and her sister, Amanda. Annabel Schofield leaves behind a legacy in both fashion and television that will be remembered by fans around the world.
