Watch: NBA Fan Breaks Silence With Three-Word Chant for Renee Good

A moment of silence held for Renee Nicole Good during a Minnesota Timberwolves game was briefly disrupted when a fan shouted a political message from the stands.Good, 37, was shot and killed earlier this week by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis. Following the incident, President Donald Trump said the agent acted in self-defense, while tributes for Good—a mother of three—poured in from across the country. Ahead of the Timberwolves’ matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers at Target Center, a message calling for healing and unity was played to the crowd.

Fans were then asked to observe a moment of silence as players from both teams stood at midcourt.Just seconds into the silence, a man in the crowd shouted, “Go home ICE!” The interruption quickly drew a reaction from other spectators, with some cheering and applauding, signaling support for the chant and opposition to the federal presence in the city.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch addressed the tragedy before tipoff, expressing condolences to Good’s family and others affected. “Our community has suffered yet another unspeakable tragedy,” Finch said, adding that the team wanted to share its prayers and support. The incident comes amid a large ICE presence in Minneapolis.

Federal authorities said thousands of agents were deployed earlier this month as part of what the Department of Homeland Security described as its largest operation to date, aimed at investigating serious criminal activity. State officials have said childcare facilities linked to initial allegations remain in normal operation. The interrupted tribute has since become a focal point in the wider debate surrounding the tragedy and federal enforcement actions in the city.
