Tensions intensified after Trump formally renamed Washington, D.C.’s historic Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, a move widely criticized by members of the Kennedy family. Joe Kennedy III argued that the venue, established as a memorial to JFK after his assassination in 1963, cannot be renamed under federal law.
