The silo stands beside a handcrafted log cabin built in 2019, originally designed as a cozy weekend rental. The project was led by Gerald Wiens, who expected modest interest and planned to rent the cabin only a few weekends each month. Instead, demand quickly surpassed expectations. During the pandemic, the Paw Print Cabin was booked for more than 180 nights in a single year, revealing a growing desire for peaceful rural getaways.

Inspired by this success, Gerald turned his attention to a nearby abandoned farm silo that was still in good condition. Rather than removing it, he envisioned transforming the circular structure into a livable space—despite the challenges such a design presented. After months of planning, sketches, and revised floor plans, the idea became reality.

The finished silo rises four stories and 45 feet high, creating a striking yet functional retreat. Inside, the silo opens into a circular living area furnished for comfort. Plush seating and thoughtful design turn the former farm structure into a one-of-a-kind getaway where guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding quiet.
