Worry is spreading through the country music world as Dolly Parton’s family asks fans to pray for the 79-year-old legend following recent health challenges. Her sister, Freida Parton, shared an emotional Facebook post this week: “Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” Though Freida didn’t share details, the message came just days after Dolly postponed her Las Vegas residency on doctors’ orders.
“I’ve been dealing with some health challenges,” Dolly told fans. “My doctors say I need a few procedures, so I have to take a little time off.” Last month, she revealed she’d been treated for a kidney stone and infection that forced her to miss a Dollywood event.

Still, she assured fans, “Don’t worry about me quittin’—God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.” Even while recovering, Dolly continues to work on new projects, including a stage musical, a children’s book, and a fashion line.
Freida expressed confidence that her sister’s faith and strength will carry her through: “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted, I know she’ll be just fine.” Fans are now joining the Parton family in lifting the beloved icon up in prayer.
