An elderly couple, Bert and Edna, are sitting on the porch swing

On a quiet Sunday evening, Bert and Edna, married 55 years, sip lukewarm tea on the porch. Edna suddenly says, “Let’s talk about our bucket lists.” Bert jokes, “At 87, my list is just ‘remember where I left my pants.’” But he admits he’s always wanted to skydive. Edna’s shocked. “You faint tying your shoes!” Bert shrugs: “If I fall, I’ll haunt the neighbor.” Edna agrees to do hers too, but before that, she has a confession.

She reveals she sabotaged his recliner with a spatula after he ruined her curtains in 1989, and that she rigged the TV remote to always switch to Hallmark movies as revenge. Bert, stunned, laughs—and confesses his “fishing trips” were actually bowling competitions. He’s won four trophies, hidden behind the water heater. They laugh, make peace, and move forward. Edna gets a new recliner, Bert goes skydiving, and they bowl together every Saturday.

Years later, the now 85-year-old couple dies in a car accident and arrives at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter shows them a heavenly home, world-class golf, gourmet food—all free. When told he could eat anything without gaining weight, Bert explodes, blaming Edna’s health-obsessed lifestyle: “We could’ve been here years ago if not for your bran muffins!”
