At the spring assembly, he won the “Kindness Counts” award. On stage, he said, “I used to hide under my hat… but I don’t need to anymore.” He was officially adopted by Miss Raymond. On the last day of school, he gave me a school cap. “Maybe hang it in your office,” he said with a smile. It’s still there.
