Australian journalist Lauren Tomasi was injured while reporting live from peaceful immigration protests in Downtown Los Angeles on June 8, 2025. Covering the event for 9 News Australia, Tomasi was on the scene when tensions escalated between demonstrators and authorities. During the live broadcast, she was struck by what appeared to be a rubber projectile, prompting her to briefly step away from the camera. She later confirmed that she was not seriously injured and continued covering the protest.
