George Strait Mourns the Loss of Manager Erv Woolsey and Bandmate Gene Elders

Country music legend George Strait is grieving the loss of two key figures in his life and career: longtime manager Erv Woolsey and bandmate Gene Elders, who both passed away on the same day.

Woolsey, 80, died from complications after surgery. He had managed Strait since the 1980s, guiding his rise to stardom and remaining a close personal friend. Strait called him “family” and credited him with shaping his career.

Elders, known for his masterful violin playing, was a longtime member of Strait’s band.
