The tragic death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf has devastated his Texas community. The Frisco Memorial High School student was fatally stabbed during a track event on April 2, 2025, following an altercation with another student, Karmelo Anthony. The incident began over a disagreement in the team tent and quickly turned violent. Austin’s twin brother, Hunter, was there and tried to save him as emergency responders arrived. Sadly, Austin died from his injuries.

Karmelo Anthony, also 17, has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond. His father insists his son was not the aggressor.
