4 US States Under Threat from Hazardous Ice Storm

A strong ice storm is impacting Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, with hazardous weather expected through Thursday. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Ice Storm Warnings for several areas, forecasting up to half an inch of ice accumulation and wind gusts of 35 mph. The storm is expected to disrupt travel, especially on bridges and overpasses,

and may cause widespread power outages due to heavy ice on trees and power lines. Officials urge residents to avoid travel, prepare for power loss, and stay informed through local alerts. Some affected areas include Garrett, Washington, and Allegany counties in Maryland, Frederick and Clarke counties in Virginia, and multiple counties in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
