My new coworker brought a ”chicken casserole” to the office potluck and insisted that we all eat it. Hours later, everyone became ill and departed, but I stayed because I hadn’t eaten it. That’s when I detected a foul odor coming from her workstation.I opened the drawer and discovered dozens of packages of outdated mayonnaise that had spilled due to heat.
Some of them were open and empty. It seems she had used them to make the creamy sauce, which very certainly poisoned everyone. The drawer also had other unsettling stuff, such as fingernails and dirty napkins.
She had barely joined the workplace a few weeks before and did not appear unsanitary at first. I am not a snitch, but I had no choice except to report it to HR. She was let go a week later.
