BEFORE After a long battle with cancer, BBC host Beccy Barr has died. She quit her job as a TV host to become a firefighter.

In 2019, Ms. Barr, who is from Lancaster, said she was leaving journalism after 20 years to work for Lancashire Fire and Rescue, the same company where her father Roy worked. In February 2022, she shared on social media the good news that she had received distinctions in all of her end-point assessments, which included the practical, theoretical, and interview parts.
