Basel, Switzerland’s Top Secret Drum Corps is known for its high level of precision. At the 2012 Edinburgh Military Tattoo, 25 drummers and color guard members performed a sequence of beat-filled formations with a digital era theme. Some jousting in a Musketeer style and drums that glow in the dark are part of the act.
The drummers put in countless hours of practice outside of their day jobs as everything from bankers to civil employees. If a single stick were to fall to the ground or the snare were to be touched by accident, the entire process would be derailed. Amazingly, though, the band doesn’t skip a beat. The experience of watching them live is unparalleled.
The drummers and color guards put on a spectacular visual spectacle among flashing lights and burning torches, creating an electric atmosphere for their performance. The drums never lose a beat, and the color guards employ a variety of flags throughout the routine.
The band has gained a reputation for Erik Julliard’s creative direction, which has resulted in a number of successful new performances.
