Mark Wahlberg shares update on his family saying they’re ‘thriving’ after ditching Hollywood for Las Vegas

Mark Wahlberg, the famous American actor, and his family have been enjoying their new life in Las Vegas since moving out of their $90 million California mansion in search of a better life.

In an interview with E! News, Wahlberg said that his children are thriving in Vegas and they love it there. He said, “Everybody is thriving there. It’s been great.”

The actor and his wife, Rhea Durham, have four children together: Ella, 18; Michael, 16; Brendan, 13; and Grace, 12.

Wahlberg explained that he spent a lot of time in Los Angeles pursuing his career and interests, but now it is time for his children to pursue theirs.

Wahlberg’s move to Las Vegas has come with a long list of perks, including a short commute to some of the hottest shows in the city. He mentioned that he had seen Adele and Bruno Mars, among other great shows, and had been to lots of great restaurants.

Wahlberg listed his Beverly Hills home for $87.5 million in April 2022, after purchasing the estate for $8.25 million in 2009. The mansion boasts 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, a home theater, a wine cellar, a five-hole golf course, a tennis court, a skate park, and a separate guest house.

After leaving his flashy property in The Golden State, the “Uncharted” actor purchased a home in Summerlin, located just outside of Las Vegas, for $15.6 million in July, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Appearing on “The Talk” in October 2022, Wahlberg talked about the biggest challenge he faces as a family man who also has a career. He explained that he wants to be able to work from home and be closer to his family.

He said, “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there. So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”

Wahlberg and his family seem to have found a happy new home in Las Vegas, where they are enjoying the many opportunities and entertainment options that the city has to offer. While the actor’s move from California may have been a significant change, he has no regrets and is looking forward to what the future holds.

We can’t wait to see Wahlberg’s next big movie!
