I’d saved for years, imagining myself walking through the ruins, watching sunsets in Santorini. I wanted to go with Dan, my husband, and he always said, “We’ll go next year.” But it never came. Something always got in the way – work, the house, whatever. Still, I kept saving, believing we’d finally go. When I turned 65, I had enough for both of us to go. I planned the trip and even bought a new swimsuit, excited to celebrate my birthday in Greece. So, I sat Dan down and said, “I’ve saved enough. Let’s finally do it—let’s go to Greece.” He looked at me like I’d lost my mind. “At your age? You think you’re going to wear that swimsuit? You’re TOO OLD for that. Greece is for young people, not… you.” He sneered, looking me up and down with disgust. Then, he added, “Why don’t you just give me the money? I’ll use it for a fishing trip with the guys.
