23-Year-Old British Woman Dies in Texas After Reported Dispute With Father Over Donald Trump

A 23-year-old British woman died while staying with her father in Texas last year following a heated argument, an inquest has heard. Lucy Harrison, a fashion buyer from Warrington, UK, had traveled to the United States with her boyfriend, Sam Littler. The couple were due to return home on January 10, 2025. However, on the day of their planned departure, a confrontation between Lucy and her father, Kris Harrison, turned tragic at his family home in Prosper, Texas.

According to testimony at Cheshire Coroner’s Court, Littler said Lucy and her father often clashed over political views, including gun ownership. On January 10, the two were reportedly arguing about Donald Trump. During the exchange, Lucy asked how her father would feel if she were sexually assaulted. Littler told the court that Kris’s response deeply upset Lucy, causing her to run upstairs.

Littler said Kris later took Lucy by the hand and led her toward his bedroom. Moments later, he heard a loud bang and Kris shouting for help. When Littler entered the room, Lucy was lying on the floor while Kris appeared distressed and repeatedly called for emergency services.

A grand jury later declined to prosecute Kris Harrison. The inquest also heard he had previously struggled with alcohol addiction and admitted relapsing on the day. In a statement, Kris expressed deep remorse, saying he carries the weight of Lucy’s loss every day and remains profoundly sorry for the pain caused.
