With Heavy Hearts, We Remember a Legendary Actress Who Has Passed Away

As a child, Yvonne Lime Fedderson was so shy she often hid behind her mother when visitors arrived. Few could have imagined that the timid girl would grow into a confident Hollywood actress and lifelong humanitarian.Yvonne passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Paradise Valley, Arizona, on January 23, 2026. She was 90.Born and raised in Glendale, California, Yvonne was enrolled in drama classes to help overcome her shyness.

The plan worked. By age 10, she was already performing professionally, showing a natural presence that quickly caught the industry’s attention. Her film debut came in 1956 with The Rainmaker, where she appeared alongside Burt Lancaster and Katharine Hepburn. Paramount Pictures signed her immediately, impressed by her performance.

In 1957, she starred in the cult classic I Was a Teenage Werewolf, which became an unexpected box-office hit. That same year, she appeared in Loving You with Elvis Presley, followed by a leading role in Dragstrip Riot. Though her film career was brief, it left a lasting mark. Yvonne later became a familiar face on television, appearing in series such as Dobie Gillis, Bat Masterson, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., and My Three Sons, produced by her husband, Don Fedderson.

Beyond acting, her greatest legacy was humanitarian. In 1959, she co-founded Childhelp, a nonprofit supporting abused and at-risk children. Her work earned five Nobel Peace Prize nominations. Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and quiet strength.
