In just days, donations surged past $1.5 million, with one person giving $10,000. Ed, who has never used TikTok or Instagram and still owns a flip phone, shared his story with WXYZ, tearfully remembering his wife and explaining how the support has touched him.
“I try to visit her grave every day. It helps me get through,” Ed said. Samuel expressed his motivation: “I just wanted to give him a chance to retire and have some comfort… I didn’t expect this much support, it’s record-breaking.” Ed’s story has touched many, offering hope and gratitude during difficult times.
