With heavy hearts… Dolly Parton needs our prayers and support

Dolly Parton’s family has asked fans to keep the 79-year-old country music icon in their prayers following recent health challenges. The appeal comes after Dolly postponed her Las Vegas residency on doctors’ advice to undergo medical procedures. Her sister, Freida Parton, shared an emotional note on Facebook: “Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly… Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” While no medical specifics were disclosed, the message came shortly after Dolly revealed she’d been sidelined by a kidney stone that caused an infection, keeping her from attending a Dollywood event.

Despite these setbacks, Dolly’s optimism remains strong. “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she told fans. Even while navigating health issues, Dolly continues to work creatively, announcing a new musical inspired by her life, a children’s book, and a fashion collaboration with Good American jeans. Her family emphasizes the power of prayer and community support, with Freida writing, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine.”

This year has been marked by personal loss as well: Dolly’s husband of nearly six decades, Carl Dean, passed away in March 2025. She has spoken about drawing strength from her faith and cherishing his memory daily.

Fans are encouraged to support Dolly by keeping her in their thoughts and prayers while celebrating the music and spirit that have inspired generations. Even amid challenges, Dolly Parton’s resilience, faith, and creative drive continue to shine.
