After My Husband Died, His Children Erased Me

I loved my husband Elias deeply. We met when I was 39 and he was 52, and married a year later. Life felt perfect—until he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. For two years, I cared for him through every painful moment. His children, Jordan and Maya, rarely visited, saying they couldn’t bear to see him like that. I stayed because I loved him.

After his funeral, his kids showed up and coldly told me to leave the home I had shared with Elias—he had left it to them, and they were selling it. I packed my bags, heartbroken and betrayed. Then, a mysterious text arrived: “Check the Fremont storage unit. Locker 112. Elias wanted you to have it.”

Inside, I found letters, deeds to three vacation homes in my name, valuable jewelry, and a diamond ring—gifts from Elias, who knew how his children would treat me. Months later, I moved into one of the homes in the Colorado mountains, where I finally found peace.
