Wisconsin Dairy Queen Owner Defends Controversial Sign

Note: we are republishing this story, which originally made the news in September 2017.A Dairy Queen in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, has gone viral after a sign in its window declared the restaurant “politically incorrect,” stating staff say “Merry Christmas,” “God Bless America,” support the troops, and offer free sundaes to veterans on Veterans Day. Owner Kevin Scheunemann said he put up the sign years ago after a complaint about Christian music, and hasn’t faced issues since.

He sees it as a statement of transparency about the staff’s values.The sign recently gained attention after a visitor from Oregon posted a photo on Facebook, sparking debate over whether it promotes exclusion.
