My Husband’s Best Friend Moved In, Expecting Me to Clean Up After Him – So I Taught Them Both a Lesson

My husband Jake let his best friend, Alex, move in while his place was being renovated—without asking me. What was supposed to be a short stay turned into months of chaos. Alex trashed the guest room, stayed up late with Jake playing games and drinking, and left the house in a constant mess. I worked full-time and came home to a disaster, only to be brushed off when I complained.

Fed up, I fought back—in my own way. One morning, I dumped all of Alex’s trash into Jake’s home office. When he freaked out, I simply said, “It’s just one room to clean, right?” Suddenly, my point hit home. The house improved—for a while. But the mess crept back. After one final argument, I packed a bag and stayed with a friend for the weekend.
