Sally Field responds to critics who called her “ugly”

Field’s strength goes beyond her acting career. In her 2018 memoir, she revealed painful experiences from her early life, including abuse by her stepfather, yet she rose above it to become a powerful presence on-screen and off. Her battle with osteoporosis, diagnosed before age 60, has further tested her resilience.

Despite maintaining a healthy lifestyle, the illness progressed silently—a reality many women face. Still, Field refuses to let it define her. With authenticity and quiet courage, she continues to inspire others by standing tall, aging on her own terms, and reminding us all that grace doesn’t need perfection.
