Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter have been sending secret love messages to each other since the 1940’s

The marriage of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, who are both 98 years old, is “the most significant thing in my life,” according to Carter.

According to the oldest U.S. president still alive, just two things will ensure a happy and successful marriage: Carter advised Monday’s “Good Morning America” on ABC to first pick the appropriate spouse. And every night, we make an effort to make up for all of the conflicts from the previous day.

As of 2019, the Carters are the longest-married presidents, surpassing George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. They commemorated their 76th wedding anniversary in July 2022.

How do you keep the flame alive after all these years? Often, the simplest solutions are the best.

In the 1940s, when the 98-year-old former president was still a young naval officer, he devised a technique to show his wife how much he loved her.

I adore you more than anything. In a 2014 interview with People, he stated, “That’s what my mother and father used to say back and forth, and I picked it up with Rosa.

ILYTG became such a big part of their lives together that Jimmy had it carved into a compact he handed Rosalynn.

The contract paperwork are kept in the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Carter children have also been using ILYTG among themselves, much like Jimmy.

“Now, ILYTG on the phone or in emails, is what all of our kids do. Typically, they only provide the initials, he said. Also, they occasionally alter the initials to leave you guessing what they are referring to.

The importance of spending time with his partner and “giving each other lots of space to do our own thing” has been realised by Carter, though. They often engage in activities like fly fishing, bird watching, and attending church. Each night before going to bed, they read aloud from the Bible.

In an interview with the Associated Press on July 4, Rosalynn Carter used the term “partnership” to describe their relationship. Rosalynn said, “I knew more about the business on paper than he did.”

The time the Carters spent cooped up in their Plains, Georgia, home during the coronavirus outbreak contributed to the development of their relationship over time. During a guest appearance on “GMA,” the 39th president claimed that their 75-year marriage had deepened their love for one another. “I consider that to be somewhat extraordinary. Not many couples experience this, but it did happen to us.

It’s impossible not to love them. The Carters are the nicest, most genuine individuals you will ever meet.

I pray that God will continue to favour them.
