(2) Beloved Film and TV Actress Helen Siff Passes Away at 88

In a statement, her family remembered her as both a gifted performer and a kind professional. “Those who worked with Helen knew her not just for her talent, but for her dedication, warmth, and respect for every role,” they said, noting that she treated even the smallest parts as meaningful contributions to storytelling.

Siff’s on-screen career began in 1981 with an appearance on the CBS drama Lou Grant. Throughout the 1980s, she became a recognizable presence on television, appearing in popular series such as Cagney & Lacey, Silver Spoons, L.A. Law, Highway to Heaven, Simon & Simon, and Doogie Howser, M.D.

During the 1990s, she remained active in both theater and television. She originated the role of Helga in the off-Broadway production Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral and appeared on shows including Knots Landing, Ellen, Sister, Sister, Mad About You, and Married… With Children. Her later television credits included Spin City, Scrubs, Will & Grace, The Tracy Morgan Show, and My Name Is Earl, marking a career defined by consistency, versatility, and grace.
