The Proposal Was Perfect… But the Ring Left Me Speechless

When Zach proposed, I expected magic. But the ring wasn’t what I imagined—no diamond, no sparkle—just a dark, smoky stone with strange engravings. It felt… heavy. Like it carried a story. A week later, I found an old photo of Zach with another woman—his former fiancée, Camille. On her finger was my ring. I froze. He had never mentioned her. “She disappeared,” he said. “No note. No goodbye. Just gone. The ring came back in a box, anonymously.”

And he proposed to me with that ring? He claimed it was valuable, meaningful—a way to give it a new beginning. But to me, it felt cursed. Then, two nights later, someone taped a photo of me wearing the ring to our front door. Scrawled across it: “You’re next. Return it.” The police found nothing. No fingerprints. No camera footage. Digging deeper, we learned Camille had been involved with an antique occult society. The ring wasn’t just old—it was part of a collection tied to dark rituals.

An “object of binding.” Zach swore he didn’t know. But I couldn’t trust him anymore. I returned the ring. We postponed the wedding. And I can’t stop wondering: Did Camille vanish by chance—or was she warning me? Sometimes, the past doesn’t stay buried. And sometimes, the ring on your finger carries more than just love.
