Hollywood star Dalyce Curry has been found dead in her Los Angeles home after it succumbed to wildfires spreading across the county.

The 95-year-old retired actress’s remains were found at her Altadena home in northeast Los Angeles on Sunday (January 12) at 6pm. Her family had previously reported her missing when she was not present at an evacuation point.

DON’T MIS

Dalyce was known for appearing in The Blues Brothers (1980), The 10 Commandments (1956) and Lady Sings the Blues (1972).

Her granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, told ABC News that the last time she saw the actress was on Tuesday (January 7), the day the Eaton Fire broke out.

Kelley confirmed her grandmother’s body had been uncovered in a heartbreaking Facebook post on Sunday evening. She shared: “With a heavy heart, I share that our search for Momma D has come to an end, as her remains were found in her home.

“We are devastated, and it’s difficult to comprehend how her life came to this end…

“She radiated positivity, showed grace, and lived as a shining example of strength, resilience, and kindness. Her story is one of breaking barriers, overcoming challenges, and spreading love wherever she went.

“I miss her deeply and am working through the waves of regret—wishing I had called her more, shared more moments. But I know the best way to honor her is to keep her memory alive and cherish the beautiful moments we shared.”

Just hours earlier, Kelley shared shocking footage of her grandmother’s ruined belongings after her home was destroyed by the fires.

In a clip, Kelley pulled out a charred bicycle, refrigerator and door and also showed Dalyce’s burned-out Cadillac, reports MailOnline.

Kelley explained that the last time she saw her grandmother was when she dropped her off at her Altadena home on Tuesday at around midnight.

Despite seeing the fire in the faraway mountains, Kelley left for the evening as she had to care for her cancer-stricken sibling and did not sense imminent danger.

The next day, Kelley woke to a text alert that the power had gone out at her grandmother’s home and rushed to check on her.

An officer informed her that the property had been completely burned down and advised her to check the Pasadena Civic Center, where residents had been sent.

There was no sign of Dalyce and the next five days were spent desperately hoping officers would find her.

Following the tragic update, those who knew and loved Dalyce paid tribute to her on social media.
